We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer (Mechanical) to ensure that manufactured components and assemblies meet specified quality standards. The role centers on shop floor inspection and precision measurement, working closely with production, tooling, and design teams to maintain product quality and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Shop floor inspection:
- Carry out in-process, first-article, and final inspection of machined and fabricated components on the shop floor.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and geometric features against engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
- Identify non-conformances, segregate rejected parts, and initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor production processes to detect quality deviations early and coordinate with operators and supervisors for resolution.
- Maintain inspection records, reports, and traceability documentation.
Tool handling and measurement:
- Operate precision measuring instruments including vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
- Ensure correct use, handling, and storage of measuring tools to maintain accuracy.
- Verify calibration status of instruments and coordinate timely calibration as per schedule.
- Interpret readings accurately and document measurement results.
General quality duties:
- Support root-cause analysis and problem-solving using tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone, and 8D.
- Assist in preparing quality documentation such as control plans, PFMEA, inspection reports, and SOPs.
- Participate in internal audits and support compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 (as applicable).
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors on incoming material quality when required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
- Hands-on proficiency with precision measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, gauges).
- Familiarity with quality systems and inspection methods.
- Good analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office and basic quality reporting tools.
Preferred (Optional)
- Experience with CMM or other advanced metrology equipment.
- Exposure to Six Sigma / lean manufacturing concepts.

Pay: ₹13,500.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
