Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead – Embedded Engineering to lead the design, development, and deployment of the embedded, electrical, and power systems that drive our autonomous vessels.
This role requires strong expertise across embedded firmware, PCB design, power electronics, hardware integration, and real-world system validation. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to build reliable, mission-critical autonomous platforms capable of operating in demanding marine environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete embedded and electrical engineering function, including firmware, electronics, power systems, and hardware architecture.
- Design electrical system architecture for autonomous marine platforms, from board-level electronics to complete vessel wiring.
- Develop multi-layer PCB designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and hardware documentation.
- Design and develop power electronics, including DC-DC converters, power supplies, electrical isolation, and protection circuits while ensuring EMI/EMC compliance.
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems with reliable real-time performance.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, communication modules, battery systems, navigation systems, and propulsion components.
- Collaborate with mechanical, robotics, and software engineering teams during system integration and platform bring-up.
- Lead hardware debugging, board validation, and firmware troubleshooting.
- Design efficient power management systems for long-endurance autonomous operations.
- Plan and execute hardware qualification, environmental, EMI/EMC, and compliance testing.
- Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including schematics, PCB revisions, wiring diagrams, test reports, and design records.
- Establish engineering standards, development processes, code reviews, and testing methodologies.
- Support pool, harbour, and sea trials by diagnosing and resolving embedded hardware and electrical issues.
- Mentor embedded engineers and promote engineering best practices across the team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems development.
- Strong expertise in embedded firmware development for microcontroller-based systems.
- Experience in schematic capture, PCB design, board bring-up, and hardware debugging.
- Strong understanding of power electronics and electrical system design.
- Experience working with communication protocols including:
- UART
- SPI
- I2C
- CAN
- RS-232/RS-485
- Strong knowledge of sensor and actuator integration.
- Understanding of device drivers and embedded software interfaces.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills across hardware and firmware.
Pay: Up to ₹3,500,000.00 per year
