Job Summary
The General Manager will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure the institution achieves its educational mission, financial targets, and long-term growth objectives. This role requires a blend of strong business acumen, people management skills, and a commitment to maintaining high academic and administrative standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic & Financial Management
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive business plans to drive institutional growth, improve student enrollment, and enhance market presence.
- Budget Oversight: Manage the institution's financial performance, including developing annual budgets, forecasting, and ensuring cost-effective resource allocation across all departments.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to academics, operations, and finance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to local, state, and national educational and regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
2. Operational Excellence
- Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee the smooth and efficient functioning of all administrative and support departments (e.g., admissions, student services, facilities, IT, and maintenance).
- Process Improvement: Develop, implement, and refine policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across the institution.
- Facility Management: Supervise the management and maintenance of the physical campus, ensuring a safe, conducive, and modern learning environment.
3. Leadership & People Management
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of departmental heads and staff to foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability.
- HR Liaison: Oversee human resource functions, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, staff development, and performance appraisal systems.
- Culture & Engagement: Cultivate a positive, engaging, and professional work and learning environment that aligns with the institution's values.
4. Stakeholder Relations
- External Representation: Act as a key representative of the institution to external stakeholders, including government bodies, accreditation agencies, partners, and the local community.
- Key Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, faculty, and alumni to ensure high satisfaction and continuous support for institutional goals.
- Business Development: Identify potential partnerships, programs, and market opportunities for expansion or service diversification.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education Management, or a related field. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a Master's degree in Education is often preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a senior leadership or management role, preferably within the education or institutional sector, with a track record of achieving strategic goals.
