The EHS Engineer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining the organization’s Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) systems and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations. This role requires hands-on experience in safety operations, audits, risk assessments, and compliance management to ensure a safe and sustainable working environment.
- Safety Management & Implementation
- Develop and implement safety policies, SOPs, and standards across the facility.
- Monitor workplace safety practices and ensure adherence to EHS guidelines.
- Conduct daily EHS inspections and corrective action follow-ups.
- Risk Assessment & Hazard Control
- Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA).
- Implement risk-mitigation measures and track their effectiveness.
- Support incident/accident investigations and root-cause analysis (RCA).
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and legal EHS requirements (Factory Act, OSHA, Environmental Laws, Pollution Control Board norms, etc.).
- Maintain updated EHS documentation, permits, licenses, and audit records.
- Coordinate with government bodies during inspections or audits.
- Training & Awareness
- Conduct EHS training programs, toolbox talks, and safety inductions.
- Promote awareness on safe work practices among employees and contractors.
- Emergency Preparedness
- Assist in preparation and execution of emergency response plans and mock drills.
- Ensure availability and maintenance of fire-fighting equipment and emergency systems.
- Environmental Management
- Monitor waste management, effluent handling, and pollution control measures.
- Support initiatives related to sustainability, energy conservation, and environmental improvement.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance
- Experience with HIRA, JSA, safety audits
- Incident investigation and reporting
- Good communication and training skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in MS Office and EHS documentation
