Job Title: Spectro
Job Summary:
The Spectro Operator is responsible for performing chemical composition analysis of metal samples using Optical Emission Spectrometry (OES) and other laboratory testing equipment. The role ensures accurate and timely testing of raw materials, molten metal, and finished products to maintain quality standards and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain Optical Emission Spectrometers (OES) and related laboratory equipment for metal analysis.
- Prepare metal samples according to standard testing procedures.
- Conduct chemical composition testing of raw materials, molten metal, and finished products.
- Verify test results against customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements.
- Record, analyze, and report test results accurately in laboratory records and software systems.
- Perform routine calibration, standardization, and preventive maintenance of spectrometers and laboratory instruments.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory quality control procedures and ISO standards.
- Support production teams by providing timely analytical data for process control and decision-making.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping and ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Assist in investigations related to non-conforming materials and quality issues.
- Maintain testing records, calibration logs, and quality documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, Material Science, or related field.
- Experience operating Spectro/OES equipment in a manufacturing or metallurgical laboratory.
- Knowledge of metal chemistry, laboratory testing methods, and quality control procedures.
- Familiarity with calibration, sample preparation, and analytical reporting.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
