Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and student-focused Senior Admission Counsellor to guide students through the entire overseas education journey. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of international admissions, excellent counselling skills, and the ability to manage multiple applications while maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel students regarding higher education opportunities in countries such as the UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Europe, and other destinations.
- Evaluate students' academic profiles and recommend suitable universities and programs based on their qualifications, career goals, and budget.
- Guide students throughout the admission process, from profile assessment to university enrollment.
- Assist students in preparing and reviewing application documents, including:
- Statement of Purpose (SOP)
- Letters of Recommendation (LOR)
- Resume/CV
- Academic transcripts
- Other supporting documents
- Ensure complete and accurate submission of university applications before deadlines.
- Monitor application status and communicate regularly with universities regarding offers and application updates.
- Provide guidance on scholarships, tuition fees, eligibility requirements, and admission criteria.
- Coordinate with visa, finance, and compliance teams to ensure a smooth transition after receiving admission offers.
- Maintain accurate student records in the CRM and regularly update application progress.
- Follow up with prospective students and convert enquiries into successful admissions.
- Conduct counselling sessions through in-person meetings, phone calls, email, and virtual platforms.
- Participate in education fairs, seminars, webinars, school visits, and promotional events.
- Stay updated on university policies, admission requirements, visa regulations, and international education trends.
- Mentor and support junior admission counsellors whenever required.
- Meet monthly admission targets while maintaining excellent student satisfaction.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred).
- Excellent profile evaluation and university shortlisting skills.
- Strong understanding of public university admission regulations and document verification.
- Ability to interpret university admission guidelines and resolve application-related queries.
- High attention to detail with strong documentation and compliance skills.
- Experience handling complex admission cases, credit deficiencies, and conditional offers.
- Strong follow-up, conversion, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to mentor junior admission counsellors and maintain admission quality standards.
- Customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional student experience.
- Ability to independently manage the complete admission lifecycle from enquiry to enrollment.
- Minimum 3–6+ years of experience in international admissions or study abroad counselling.
- Strong expertise in admissions for Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Finland, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Ireland, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Spain, and other European countries.
- Thorough understanding of public university admission processes, eligibility criteria, and application procedures.
- Experience with Uni-Assist, Universitaly, direct university application portals, and other centralized admission systems.
- Strong knowledge of APS Certificate, Anabin (H+ recognition), ECTS credit evaluation, curriculum mapping, GPA conversion, and eligibility assessment.
- Ability to assess student profiles and recommend suitable universities based on academic background, budget, career goals, and admission probability.
- Excellent knowledge of admission requirements, prerequisite subjects, academic documentation, grading systems, and credit transfer policies.
- Experience handling Bachelor's, Master's, and pathway admissions.
- Knowledge of English language requirements (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, MOI) and German language requirements where applicable.
- Strong understanding of scholarship opportunities, tuition fee structures, and admission deadlines across European public universities.
- Experience preparing and reviewing SOPs, Letters of Motivation, LORs, CVs, Research Proposals, and other admission documents.
- Knowledge of visa documentation, blocked account requirements, health insurance, and pre-departure procedures for European countries.
- Excellent communication, counselling, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Google Workspace.
- Ability to work under deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy and compliance.
