Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and technically competent Trainer – Electric Vehicle Service Technician for its skill development training programs in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
The trainer will be responsible for delivering theoretical and hands-on practical training in electric vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, battery systems, electric drive systems, charging systems, and EV safety practices. Training shall be conducted in accordance with the prescribed curriculum, Qualification Pack/NOS, NSQF standards, and applicable skill development guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom and practical training for Electric Vehicle Service Technician / EV Service Technician job roles.
- Train candidates in the servicing, maintenance, inspection, diagnostics, and repair of electric vehicles.
Provide hands-on practical training on:
- Electric vehicle architecture and components
- Electric motors and drive systems
- Traction battery systems
- Battery Management System (BMS)
- EV controllers and power electronics
- DC-DC converters and inverters
- Charging systems and charging protocols
- High-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems
- Wiring harnesses, connectors, sensors, and actuators
- Regenerative braking systems
- Thermal management systems
- EV fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
- Preventive maintenance and routine servicing
- Demonstrate the proper use of EV diagnostic tools, multimeters, insulation testers, scanners, and other testing equipment.
- Train candidates on safe handling of **high-voltage EV systems and batteries**.
- Ensure strict adherence to electrical safety, workshop safety, PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and manufacturer-recommended safety practices.
- Explain different EV technologies, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger vehicles, and light commercial electric vehicles, wherever relevant.
- Train candidates in battery inspection, charging, testing, basic fault identification, and maintenance procedures.
- Prepare lesson plans, session plans, practical exercises, assignments, and training materials.
- Ensure training delivery as per prescribed **Qualification Pack (QP), National Occupational Standards (NOS), NSQF curriculum, and training hours**.
- Conduct regular practical demonstrations, internal assessments, mock tests, and skill evaluations.
- Maintain candidate attendance, assessment records, practical logs, equipment registers, and other training documentation.
- Identify candidates requiring additional support and provide remedial coaching.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safe usage of tools, equipment, EV training kits, batteries, and workshop infrastructure.
- Prepare candidates for final assessment and certification.
- Provide employability, workplace discipline, and industry-readiness guidance.
- Coordinate with the Centre Manager, Training Coordinator, Assessors, and Project Team for smooth implementation of the training program.
- Support placement activities by preparing candidates for employment opportunities with EV manufacturers, dealerships, service centres, workshops, charging infrastructure companies, and related organizations.
Qualification
Candidates should preferably possess one of the following qualifications:
- ITI in Electrician / Electronics Mechanic / Mechanic Motor Vehicle / Automobile or relevant trade
- Diploma in Automobile / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
- Diploma in Electronics / Electronics & Communication Engineering
- B.E./B.Tech in Automobile / Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering
- Any other relevant technical qualification in the Automotive or Electric Vehicle sector.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant industry and/or training experience in electric vehicle servicing, automotive electrical systems, EV maintenance, diagnostics, or related areas.
- Experience with EV manufacturers, authorized dealerships, EV service centres, automobile workshops, battery service centres, or skill development training centres will be preferred.
- Previous experience as an EV Trainer / Electric Vehicle Technician Trainer / Automotive Trainer will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of electric vehicle systems and components.
- Good understanding of EV batteries, BMS, motors, controllers, inverters, and charging systems.
- Hands-on experience in EV servicing, maintenance, and fault diagnosis.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic testing procedures.
- Understanding of high-voltage safety procedures and EV workshop practices.
- Familiarity with diagnostic scanners, digital multimeters, insulation testers, and electrical testing equipment.
- Ability to conduct classroom as well as practical workshop-based training.
- Strong communication, presentation, and practical demonstration skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in a simple and understandable manner.
- Knowledge of NSQF, QP-NOS, assessments, certification, and Government skill development programs will be an advantage.
- Basic computer knowledge, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Telugu is essential; working knowledge of English and Hindi will be an added advantage.
