About the Role
SIGEAU OHMTECTURE is building indigenous defence technologies across RF, microwave, electronic warfare, high-power communication systems and mission-critical military electronics. We develop hardware intended for deployment in contested electromagnetic environments where reliability, survivability and engineering discipline determine mission success.
We are looking for an Electronic Warfare (EW) / RF Systems Engineer capable of architecting, designing, integrating and validating complete RF and EW subsystems—from concept through qualification and production. This is a hands-on engineering position involving microwave hardware, SDR, signal processing, embedded systems and defence-grade product realization.
The role is intended for engineers who enjoy solving problems that do not yet have established solutions rather than maintaining existing products.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectronic Warfare Systems
- Design and develop Electronic Support (ES), Electronic Protection (EP) and Electronic Attack (EA) subsystems.
- Design adaptive RF systems capable of operation in congested and contested electromagnetic environments.
- Analyse radar, communication and electronic-emission characteristics for survivability and countermeasure development.
RF & Microwave Engineering
- Design RF front ends, microwave assemblies and transmission subsystems.
- Develop waveguide components including bends, twists, couplers, power dividers, filters, combiners, transitions, terminations and antenna interfaces.
- Design high-power RF chains including LNAs, filters, mixers, frequency converters and power amplifiers.
- Perform link-budget calculations, cascade noise analysis, gain budgeting and power budgeting.
- Optimise RF performance for insertion loss, return loss, isolation, VSWR, phase stability and thermal behaviour.
- Perform electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/EMI) analysis and mitigation.
Antennas & Propagation
- Develop antenna feed networks and array architectures.
- Work on beamforming, adaptive arrays, null steering and direction-finding techniques.
- Evaluate antenna performance through simulation and measurement.
- Analyse propagation characteristics under operational conditions.
GNSS / Assured PNT
- Develop resilient navigation architectures capable of operating under GNSS denial.
- Integrate multi-constellation and multi-frequency GNSS receivers.
- Design anti-spoofing and anti-jamming countermeasures.
- Work with INS integration, sensor fusion and navigation integrity monitoring.
SDR & Tactical Communications
- Develop SDR-based communication architectures.
- Implement secure tactical datalinks.
- Develop frequency-hopping and adaptive waveform techniques.
- Integrate encryption and communication security mechanisms.
- Evaluate communication performance under hostile RF conditions.
Signal Processing
- Design DSP algorithms for detection, classification and tracking.
- Develop adaptive filtering, interference suppression and jammer mitigation algorithms.
- Implement beamforming and spectral estimation techniques.
- Work with FPGA and DSP platforms for real-time implementation.
Embedded Systems
- Develop embedded software using C/C++ for defence electronics.
- Interface FPGA, DSP and embedded processors.
- Design hardware around high-speed digital interfaces.
- Participate in PCB architecture, schematic capture and hardware debugging.
System Integration
- Integrate RF, embedded, mechanical and power subsystems.
- Perform subsystem and system-level integration.
- Resolve cross-domain performance issues involving thermal, RF and mechanical interactions.
- Support prototype development through production transition.
Verification & Qualification
- Perform laboratory validation using: Vector Network Analysers (VNA), Spectrum Analysers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, SDR Platforms, RF Power Measurement Systems, EMI/EMC Instrumentation, Environmental Qualification Equipment
- Conduct system verification against military specifications.
