Civil Engineer – EHV Substation (220kV and Above)

Qualification
-
B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
-
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in EHV Substation projects (220kV, 400kV, 765kV, GIS/AIS).
Experience
-
5–10 years of relevant experience in construction of 220kV and above substations.
-
Experience in EPC power transmission projects will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Execution
-
Execute all civil works related to EHV substations including AIS/GIS projects.
-
Supervise construction of control room buildings, switchyard equipment foundations, transformer foundations, cable trenches, retaining walls, roads, drains, boundary walls, firefighting water tanks, and other associated civil works.

Ensure work execution as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and project schedule.
-
Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, design, and QA/QC teams for seamless project execution.
Site Management
-
Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and site workforce.
-
Monitor daily progress and ensure achievement of project milestones.
-
Verify site measurements and certify contractor bills.
-
Ensure availability of manpower, machinery, and construction materials.
Quality Control
-
Ensure compliance with approved Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Method Statements, and Inspection Test Plans (ITP).
-
Conduct inspections for reinforcement, shuttering, concreting, excavation, backfilling, and finishing works.
-
Coordinate cube testing, material testing, and third-party inspections.
-
Ensure all civil works comply with project specifications, IS Codes, and client requirements.
Planning & Billing
-
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
-
Maintain measurement books (MB), DPRs, and work registers.
-
Track BOQ quantities and monitor quantity variations.
-
Coordinate preparation of RA Bills and reconciliation of civil materials.
Material Management
-
Estimate and monitor requirements for cement, reinforcement steel, aggregates, structural steel, and other construction materials.
-
Ensure proper storage and utilization of materials.
-
Monitor material reconciliation and minimize wastage.
Safety
-
Ensure compliance with HSE policies and statutory safety requirements.
-
Conduct toolbox talks and enforce safe work practices.
-
Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions at site.
Coordination
-
Liaise with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal departments.
-
Participate in project review meetings.
-
Resolve technical and construction-related issues promptly.
Work Experience
Experiance 8-12 year
Technical Skills
-
Knowledge of IS Codes, CPWD specifications, and EHV Substation standards.
-
Experience in foundation design interpretation and structural drawings.
-
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
-
Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
-
Familiarity with Primavera P6/MS Project will be an added advantage.
-
Knowledge of quantity estimation, BOQ preparation, and material reconciliation.
