A Hair Transplant Technician assists the surgeon during hair restoration procedures such as FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) . The technician is responsible for graft handling, extraction assistance, implantation support, sterilization, patient preparation, and ensuring high standards of hygiene and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Procedure Duties
Prepare OT/procedure room and sterilize instruments.
Set up hair transplant equipment and consumables.
Assist in patient preparation, including shaving, cleaning, and draping.
Take pre-procedure photographs and maintain patient records.
Ensure consent forms and documentation are completed.
During Procedure
Assist the doctor/surgeon during FUE procedures.
Extract, sort, count, and preserve grafts under microscopes.
Assist in graft implantation.
Maintain graft viability using proper hydration and storage methods.
Monitor patient comfort and assist with local anesthesia setup.
Follow strict infection-control and aseptic protocols.
Post-Procedure Duties
Clean and dress donor/recipient areas.
Provide post-operative care instructions to patients.
Sterilize instruments and dispose of biomedical waste properly.
Update treatment notes and procedural records.
Coordinate follow-up appointments.
Required Skills
Knowledge of FUE techniques.
Understanding of scalp anatomy and graft handling.
Ability to work long procedures with attention to detail.
Good hand-eye coordination and microscope handling skills.
Knowledge of sterilization and infection-control protocols.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Qualifications
Diploma/Certificate in OT Technician, Nursing, or Hair Transplant Technology preferred.
Experience in cosmetic surgery or dermatology clinic preferred.
Freshers with relevant training may also apply.
Experience Requirements
0–1 year: Junior Technician
2–5 years: Experienced Hair Transplant Technician
Senior technicians may supervise graft handling teams and junior staff.
Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
