Job Summary
Sea Blue Shipyard Limited is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and manage all shipyard operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. The Operations Manager will lead production teams, coordinate cross-functional departments, optimize resource utilization, and maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily shipyard operations.
- Manage new shipbuilding, repair, maintenance, and fabrication projects.
- Develop project schedules and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, Design, Procurement, Planning, Stores, and HSE departments.
- Optimize manpower, equipment, and material utilization.
- Monitor productivity and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with class society, client specifications, and statutory regulations.
- Oversee quality control and ensure adherence to approved procedures.
- Maintain safe working practices and ensure compliance with HSE policies.
- Monitor project costs and control operational expenses.
- Conduct daily production meetings and review project status.
- Resolve operational issues, bottlenecks, and resource conflicts.
- Liaise with clients, surveyors, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Prepare operational reports, KPIs, and management presentations.
- Develop and mentor supervisors, engineers, and production staff.
- Ensure proper maintenance and availability of machinery and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture, Production Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA (Operations) is an added advantage.
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore fabrication, or heavy engineering.
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Experience managing large-scale marine fabrication or shipyard operations is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent planning, scheduling, and project management abilities.
- Knowledge of shipbuilding processes, welding, fabrication, piping, outfitting, and dry-docking operations.
- Understanding of QA/QC standards, Class Society requirements, and marine regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Budgeting and cost control expertise.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Certifications
- PMP or Project Management Certification (preferred).

- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Certification is an advantage.
Working Conditions
- Full-time, based at the shipyard.
- Willingness to work extended hours during critical project phases.
- Regular interaction with clients, classification societies, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
