About VJ Capital
VJ Capital is a New Delhi-based family office investment firm being built from the ground up. We invest in listed and unlisted equities across Indian markets with a focus on identifying high-quality businesses with durable competitive advantages. The firm is in its earliest phase-the team, systems, brand, and processes are all being established now.
The longer-term goal is to build a recognised investment platform with a strong public brand, an established research team, and eventually a formal structure to manage external capital. Everything we build now is with that destination in mind.
About the Role
This is not a traditional Executive Assistant position. The title reflects the reporting line but the work is closer to entrepreneurial first employee and operational co-builder of the firm.
We are looking for someone with 0-2 years of experience-a strong recent graduate or someone early in their career who has demonstrated an ability to figure things out independently. The most important qualities are genuine fluency with technology and AI tools, an entrepreneurial mindset that sees gaps and fills them, and the drive to build something from nothing.
You will have a hand in every non-investment function of the business-infrastructure, tech stack, brand, content, hiring, and HR. Ideas are welcome and many will be implemented. There is no bureaucracy to navigate and no entrenched way of doing things because none of it exists yet.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology and infrastructure
- Research, recommend, and implement or get implemented the firm's complete operational tech stack-company email accounts, communication and productivity tools, AI subscriptions, and document management
- Identify and manage outsourced vendors for technical work such as website design and IT support-not doing the technical work personally but owning the process of selecting the right vendor, briefing them clearly, and holding them to timeline and quality
- Stay ahead of relevant tools and platforms and bring the right ones to the firm's attention
Hiring and team building
- Work alongside the founder to hire the research team-one senior analyst and two junior analysts-including writing job descriptions, screening applications, coordinating interviews, and managing onboarding
- Help formulate the firm's HR policies, compensation structures, and basic operational processes as the team comes together
Operations and administration
- Manage the founder's calendar, scheduling, and travel
- Handle expense tracking, vendor payments, and monthly budget management
- Keep day-to-day operations organised with nothing falling through the cracks
- Manage day-to-day issues of and set meetings for the firm's analysts
What We Are Looking For
- Graduate from a good university with 2-4 years of experience; experience at a startup, investment firm, family office, or any environment where you had to build or figure things out is a strong plus
- Genuinely strong with technology and AI tools-you use them instinctively, know what is available, and figure out new ones quickly. This is the single most important practical skill for this role and will be assessed specifically during the interview
- Entrepreneurial mindset-you identify what needs to happen and make it happen without waiting to be directed
- Highly organised with a natural system for managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong written English-a significant portion of the output involves external correspondence and content
- Genuine curiosity about financial markets and investing
- Based in New Delhi or able to relocate before the start date
What We Offer
- Salary of ₹6-9L per annum, commensurate with experience and quality
- Direct access to the founder and genuine ownership of what you build from day one
- Your ideas will be heard and many will be implemented
- A role that grows meaningfully and quickly as the firm grows-the person who does this well will have a senior operational position within two to three years
- A front-row seat to how an investment firm is built from scratch
How to Apply
Send your CV and a cover note of no more than three paragraphs. In the first, tell us specifically what appeals to you about this role and what makes you the right person for it. In the second, tell us which AI tools you use regularly and how-this is not optional. In the third, tell us a little about yourself beyond your CV-your background, where you grew up, what has shaped how you think, and what you are genuinely trying to build in the long run. There is no right answer here, we are just looking for honesty and self-awareness.
Generic applications and template cover letters will not be reviewed.
