Job Description:
Manipal Hospitals is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist for our Pharmacy department. The primary responsibilities of the Pharmacist include dispensing medications to patients, providing information on drug interactions and side effects, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards. The Pharmacist will also collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care and offer guidance on the appropriate use of medications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide counseling to patients regarding the proper use of medications, potential side effects, and interactions.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness based on patients' health conditions and medication profiles.
- Maintain and manage inventory, including medication storage and control of expiration dates.
- Monitor the effectiveness of medication therapy and make recommendations to healthcare providers as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Participate in patient education and health promotion programs.
- Keep up-to-date with new medications, treatment protocols, and pharmacy practices.
Skills and Tools Required:
- Bachelor?s degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D from an accredited institution.
- Valid pharmacist license to practice in the region.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication management, and patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
