Job Summary
The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing fertility evaluation and treatment. The nurse supports consultants during procedures, maintains infection control standards, assists in patient counselling, and ensures proper documentation in compliance with clinic protocols and NABH standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
- Provide nursing care to OPD and fertility patients.
- Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures.
- Prepare patients for fertility procedures such as:
- IUI
- IVF
- Ovum Pick-Up (OPU)
- Embryo Transfer (ET)
- Follicular Study
- Assist doctors during examinations and procedures.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
Clinical Assistance
- Prepare procedure rooms and required instruments.
- Assist consultants during minor procedures and emergency situations.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed.
- Maintain emergency tray/crash cart readiness.
- Handle sample collection and labeling correctly.
Infection Control & Safety
- Follow infection prevention and biomedical waste management protocols.
- Ensure sterilization and disinfection of instruments.
- Maintain cleanliness of nursing stations and procedure rooms.
- Use PPE according to clinic policy.
Documentation & Records
- Maintain accurate nursing records and treatment charts.
- Update patient files and consent forms.
- Record medication administration details.
- Assist in maintaining NABH documentation requirements.
Patient Counselling & Coordination
- Educate patients regarding treatment procedures and medications.
- Guide patients regarding appointments and follow-up schedules.
- Coordinate with doctors, embryologists, lab staff, and front office teams.
- Provide emotional support to fertility patients and families.
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Monitor stock of medicines and consumables.
- Report shortages to administration.
- Ensure proper functioning of nursing and medical equipment.
Qualification Requirements
- GNM / B.Sc Nursing qualification.
- Valid Nursing Council Registration.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Experience in fertility, gynecology, OT, or women wellness center preferred.
Skills Required
- Good communication and patient handling skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Knowledge of infection control practices.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts.
- Teamwork and coordination skills.
- Basic computer knowledge for documentation.
Working Conditions
