Job Purpose
To provide professional nursing care, first aid, and health support to students, staff, and visitors in accordance with CBSE guidelines, ensuring a safe and healthy school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff during school hours.
- Maintain and manage the school infirmary/medical room as per CBSE norms.
- Monitor and record students’ health conditions, injuries, and illnesses.
- Administer prescribed medications with proper authorization and documentation.
- Handle medical emergencies until parents or emergency services arrive.
- Maintain health records of students and staff, including medical history and treatment logs.
- Conduct regular health check-ups, screenings, and follow-ups as required by CBSE.
- Ensure availability and proper storage of medicines, first aid supplies, and medical equipment.
- Coordinate with parents, teachers, and school authorities regarding student health concerns.
- Support implementation of school health programs, immunization drives, and awareness sessions.
- Ensure hygiene, cleanliness, and infection-control measures in the infirmary.
- Assist during school events, sports activities, and field trips when required.
- Comply with CBSE safety, health, and child protection policies.
Required Qualifications
- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid Nursing Council Registration (State Nursing Council).
- Certification in First Aid and CPR (preferred).
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience (school / hospital / clinic experience preferred).
- Knowledge of child healthcare and emergency handling.
- Ability to handle students with care, patience, and empathy.
- Good communication skills to interact with children, parents, and staff.
- Basic computer knowledge for record-keeping and reporting.
- Cam, responsible, and alert approach during emergencies.
