Experience
3–8 Years in Quality Assurance/Quality Control within the Kitchenware, Cookware, Stainless Steel Utensils, Aluminum Cookware, or Consumer Durables industry.
Education
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Metallurgy, or equivalent.
- Certification in ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or Quality Management will be an added advantage.
Job Summary
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring product quality throughout the manufacturing process by implementing quality control systems, conducting inspections, resolving quality issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves close coordination with Production, R&D, Procurement, and Supplier Quality teams to ensure that all kitchenware and cookware products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and company quality requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesIncoming Quality Control (IQC)
- Inspect incoming raw materials, stainless steel coils/sheets, aluminum, plastic components, coatings, and packaging materials.
- Approve or reject incoming materials based on quality specifications.
- Coordinate with suppliers for corrective actions.
In-Process Quality Control (IPQC)
- Monitor manufacturing processes including:
- Press Shop
- Deep Drawing
- Trimming
- Welding
- Buffing & Polishing
- Sand Blasting
- Coating
- Riveting
- Handle Assembly
- Packaging
- Conduct first-piece, patrol, and final inspections.
- Ensure process parameters remain within defined standards.
Final Quality Inspection (FQC)
- Perform final product inspections before dispatch.
- Verify product dimensions, finish, appearance, weight, functionality, and packaging.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications.
Quality Documentation
- Prepare:

- Maintain traceability documentation.
Root Cause Analysis
- Investigate customer complaints and internal quality issues.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis using:

- 5 Why
- Fishbone Diagram
- Pareto Analysis
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Process Improvement
- Reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
- Improve First Pass Yield (FPY).
- Drive Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Participate in Six Sigma projects.
Supplier Quality
- Evaluate supplier quality performance.
- Conduct supplier audits.
- Monitor supplier corrective actions.
- Improve supplier quality ratings.
Customer Quality
- Handle customer audits.
- Support third-party inspections.
- Resolve customer quality concerns.
- Maintain product compliance documentation.
Calibration & Testing
- Ensure timely calibration of measuring instruments.
- Verify testing equipment accuracy.
- Coordinate laboratory testing when required.
