ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Senior Finance Specialist (P1) to lead and oversee finance operations for the AMER Energy Advisory and Occupancy Planning business lines. In this senior capacity, you will not only perform end-to-end billing and finance operations but also act as a subject matter expert, drive process improvements, mentor junior team members, and ensure delivery against key performance metrics. The role is based in India and operates on the US Night Shift (5:30 PM – 2:30 AM IST) to ensure seamless collaboration with North American business teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead end-to-end project creation from the Billing case system; conduct thorough Salesforce opportunity reviews, drive contract documentation verification, and oversee accurate project setup across JLL Business Lines
Review and advise on contract language prior to client submittal; escalate complex contract matters and ensure data accuracy across all project setups
Oversee invoice creation, editing, and disbursement; serve as escalation point for complex billing disputes; credits, custom templates, and supplemental documentation
Manage AR health proactively; coordinate with clients and payable teams to apply payments; authorize disbursements and vendor payments queued by the team
Act as the primary finance contact for Project Managers; resolve Teams/chatter inquiries (timecard moves, rate cards, billing exclusions, project closures,
Host and facilitate monthly billing status calls with PMs and finance leadership to review pipeline activity and flag risks
Create and review accruals; validate RevRec milestone flagging; maintain pre-billed/deferral schedule; support month-end and year-end close in collaboration with controllership
Provide governance over T&E processing — coding, cross-regional expense projects, report reviews, backup collection, client invoicing with combined PDFs — and train resources on PS submission
Oversee daily DS billing queue; assign and redistribute cases based on team capacity; track SLA compliance and case resolution metrics
Drive process improvements and SOP updates; mentor junior Finance Specialists; support system transitions, new business onboarding, BL transitions, W-9/Bank Letter management, and internal/external audits
WHAT YOU BRING
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; CA/CMA/MBA (Finance) preferred
7–9 years of accounting or finance experience in a corporate environment, with at least 2 years in a senior/lead capacity
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros, financial modelling)
Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and AR management
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills
Willingness and ability to work US Night Shift (5:30 PM – 2:30 AM IST)
Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and deliver in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Demonstrated experience in process improvement and SOP development
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with Salesforce CRM and PeopleSoft / Certinia (FinancialForce)
Experience in real estate, energy advisory, or occupancy planning finance functions
Exposure to third-party billing portals and client-facing invoice management
Experience leading or mentoring a small finance operations team
