Reports to: Production Head/ Plant Head
Industry: Solar Cell / Semiconductor / High-Tech Manufacturing
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Thermal Cluster Owner (Diffusion & PECVD) to lead, stabilize, and optimize thermal process tools in Topcon Solar Cell Production. The role covers the complete life cycle from Greenfield setup to stable mass production, including tool installation, qualification, ramp-up, process stabilization, and long-term optimization for yield, cost, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Greenfield (New Plant / Line Setup):
- Participate in layout planning, utility requirement definition, and tool selection for Diffusion & PECVD clusters.
- Lead tool installation, commissioning, acceptance, and buy-off with OEMs and project teams.
- Develop process recipes, SOPs, control plans, and safety protocols during ramp-up.
- Support technology transfer, benchmarking, and best practices adoption from reference fabs / suppliers.
- Running Plant (Stable Production):
- Own Diffusion & PECVD cluster and ensure stable operations with high yield and efficiency.
- Monitor KPIs – Film Quality, Sheet Resistance Uniformity, Uptime, Throughput, and Cost per wafer.
- Troubleshoot process deviations (non-uniform layers, poor passivation, contamination) and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement, debottlenecking, and cost optimization projects.
- Prepare and manage BOM for process gases, quartzware, graphite parts, and consumables; monitor and optimize consumption.
- Ensure EHS compliance in handling high-purity gases, thermal furnaces, and PECVD chambers.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, QA, R&D, and Planning teams to meet production targets.
- Train and mentor engineers/operators for skill development and knowledge transfer.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in thermal processes: Diffusion (BCl₃, Annealing), PECVD (SiNx, passivation layers), and Annealing.
- Hands-on experience in Greenfield-to-Ramp-up transitions.
- Familiarity with process gases, quartzware, graphite components, and automation systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving using SPC, DOE, FMEA, RCA, Six Sigma.
- Proven leadership ability to manage teams and collaborate across functions.
Qualification
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical / Electronics / Materials Engineering.
- 10–14 years’ experience in Solar Cell / Semiconductor industry with exposure to thermal process ownership, Greenfield projects, and mass production.
