Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Engineer to manage the procurement of construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. The ideal candidate should possess strong vendor management, negotiation, and procurement planning skills while ensuring timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices. The role requires close coordination with project, planning, stores, and finance teams to support uninterrupted project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute procurement activities as per project schedules and material requirements.
- Source and evaluate vendors for construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Obtain and compare quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and finalize purchase orders.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to project sites.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and planning teams to understand procurement requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with approved vendors and identify new suppliers.
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, pricing, delivery performance, and reliability.
- Monitor procurement schedules to avoid delays affecting project timelines.
- Ensure purchased materials comply with project specifications and quality standards.
- Prepare comparative statements (CS), purchase orders (POs), and procurement reports.
- Track order status, follow up with suppliers, and resolve delivery-related issues.
- Coordinate with stores for material receipt, inspection, and reconciliation.
- Support contract negotiations and procurement of subcontractor packages where applicable.
- Maintain procurement documentation, vendor database, and records for audits.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and contractual obligations.
- Monitor market trends, material prices, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and procurement processes.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Good understanding of BOQ, technical specifications, and material scheduling.
- Knowledge of purchase order management and contract administration.
- Strong analytical and cost comparison abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in residential, commercial, or industrial building projects.
- Hands-on experience in procurement of civil, MEP, finishing, and structural materials.
- Familiarity with local and national supplier networks.
- Experience working with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants.
Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
