About the Role
Unipath Lab is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Microbiology Technician to support microbiological testing and laboratory operations. The candidate will assist in sample processing, culture preparation, staining, reporting support, and maintaining laboratory quality standards.
Freshers with relevant educational qualifications and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Key ResponsibilitiesLaboratory Operations
- Receive, label, and process microbiology samples accurately.
- Perform routine microbiological procedures under supervision.
- Assist in culture preparation, staining, incubation, and sample analysis.
- Maintain proper documentation of test records and laboratory data.
Quality & Safety
- Follow laboratory SOPs, NABL guidelines, and infection control protocols.
- Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of laboratory equipment and work areas.
- Handle biomedical waste disposal as per safety regulations.
Reporting & Coordination
- Coordinate with senior microbiologists and laboratory staff for sample processing.
- Support timely report generation and data entry.
- Inform supervisors regarding abnormal findings or sample issues.
Equipment Handling
- Assist in maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments.
- Monitor stock of reagents, culture media, and consumables.
Candidate ProfileQualification
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or related field.
- DMLT/CMLT candidates with microbiology exposure may also apply.
Skills Required
- Basic understanding of microbiology laboratory procedures.
- Good observation and documentation skills.
- Ability to follow SOPs and laboratory safety standards.
- Basic computer knowledge for data entry and reporting.
- Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
Preferred
- Internship or training experience in microbiology labs will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of culture handling and staining techniques preferred.
Working Details
- Shift duties as per laboratory operations.
- Weekly off as per company policy.
