Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Goods Engineer Supervisor / Incharge to oversee finished goods handling, material movement, packing, dispatch coordination, inventory monitoring, and warehouse operations in our furniture manufacturing unit. The candidate will ensure proper loading, unloading, storage, quality checking, and timely dispatch of furniture products while maintaining safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Finished Goods Management
- Supervise finished goods storage and warehouse activities.
- Ensure proper identification, handling, and stacking of furniture products.
- Monitor daily inward and outward material movement.
Dispatch & Logistics Coordination
- Plan and coordinate dispatch schedules as per delivery timelines.
- Ensure proper packing and loading of furniture products to avoid transit damage.
- Coordinate with transporters, logistics vendors, and internal teams for timely deliveries.
- Maintain dispatch records, challans, invoices, and transporter documents.
Inventory & Stock Control
- Maintain accurate stock records of finished goods and packing materials.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconciliation.
- Monitor shortages, damages, and excess inventory.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure products are checked before dispatch as per quality standards.
- Monitor warehouse cleanliness and safety practices.
- Ensure safe handling of materials and equipment.
Team Supervision
- Supervise warehouse staff, loaders, helpers, and dispatch operators.
- Allocate daily work responsibilities and monitor productivity.
- Train staff on handling procedures and safety guidelines.
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with production, quality, stores, and sales departments.
- Prepare daily dispatch and stock reports for management.
- Resolve dispatch-related issues and customer complaints related to damages or shortages.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of warehouse and dispatch operations
- Experience in furniture handling and packing methods
- Inventory management and stock control knowledge
- Good leadership and team handling skills
- Knowledge of ERP/software for inventory management preferred
- Problem-solving and coordination abilities
- Basic computer knowledge (Excel, ERP, Email)
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
- Relevant experience in furniture manufacturing industry is mandatory
