Senior Engineer – AV
Position Overview:
The Senior L2 Engineer – AV & VC Support will manage, troubleshoot, and maintain Audio-Visual (AV) and Video Conferencing (VC) systems across enterprise environments. The role demands expertise in AV hardware, software integration, network configurations, and resolving AV/VC-related issues. The candidate will handle escalations from L1 engineers, collaborate with clients, and ensure the seamless operation of meeting rooms, collaboration spaces, and digital signage systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- AV & VC System Support:
- Provide Level 3 support for AV & VC setups (meeting rooms, auditoriums, collaboration spaces).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AV/VC infrastructure (displays, projectors, audio systems, microphones, VC units like Logitech, Poly, Cisco, Extron, Crestron, etc.).
- Support AV automation, room scheduling systems, and digital signage solutions.
- Perform firmware upgrades, configuration changes, and system optimizations for AV devices.
- Help with basic Programming on site
- Video Conferencing & Collaboration Tools:
- Ensure seamless operation of Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, etc.
- Troubleshoot camera tracking, microphone audio quality, and video feed synchronization issues.
- Configure VC codecs, network settings, and room automation controls.
- Support hybrid meeting setups, including BYOD and soft codec integration.
- Networking & System Integration:
- Work with IT teams to configure AV-over-IP, VLANs, QoS, and firewall rules for AV/VC traffic.
- Ensure low-latency streaming, multicast configurations, and network security compliance.
- Troubleshoot cloud-based conferencing bridges and integrate with corporate IT infrastructure.
- Incident Management & Documentation:
- Manage incident escalations, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain AV asset inventory, technical documentation, system diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
- Track service requests, escalate to vendors when needed, and document firmware updates, maintenance schedules, and system health reports.
- Collaboration & Leadership:
- Act as a mentor for L1 engineers and junior AV technicians.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, facilities, project managers, vendors).
- Participate in new AV project deployments, system upgrades, and proof-of-concept (POC) testing.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Technical Skills:
- Should have hands on experience for AV Installation
- Expertise in AV & VC system troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance.
- Experience with AV control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX, QSC, Karmer).- AMX Is very important
- Knowledge of video conferencing codecs (Poly, Cisco Webex, Logitech, etc.).
- Familiarity with Dante, AES67, AV-over-IP, NDI, SDVoE protocols.
- Basic knowledge of programming for automation (Crestron Extron etc.),Audio- Video programming
- Experience integrating Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet, and SIP/H.323 systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and client-handling abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
- Time management and multitasking skills to handle multiple escalations efficiently.
- Experience:
- 5+ years in AV/VC system integration, support, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience in enterprise AV environments and large-scale deployments.
- Prior experience with incident management and vendor coordination.
- Programming Skills- Basic Programming skills with AMX,Cisco
- Certifications (preferred):
- CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, Crestron, Extron, QSC, or relevant AV industry certifications.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, IT, AV Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Work Environment & Schedule:
- On-site support at corporate offices and client locations, remote troubleshooting as needed.
