Experience Required: Minimum 2–5 years of experience in ethnic wear, blouse design, women's apparel, or fashion design. Experience in saree boutiques, designer labels, or ethnic fashion brands is preferred.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Fashion Designer to design elegant, trendy, and well-fitted blouse patterns that complement our saree collections. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of ethnic fashion, fabrics, embroidery, silhouettes, and current market trends. In addition to blouse designing, the candidate will collaborate with vendors, tailors, and the merchandising team to ensure timely execution and high-quality finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design unique and fashionable blouse styles that complement our saree collections.
- Create design concepts, sketches, and technical specifications for blouse production.
- Develop blouse patterns considering current fashion trends, customer preferences, and fabric suitability.
- Coordinate with tailors, karigars, and production teams to ensure accurate execution of designs.
- Select appropriate fabrics, linings, embellishments, embroidery, laces, buttons, and trims.
- Conduct fittings and suggest design modifications to achieve the best fit and finish.
- Work closely with the buying and merchandising teams while developing new collections.
- Assist in designing coordinated accessories or complementary garments when required.
- Ensure all products meet the brand's quality, aesthetic, and finishing standards.
- Stay updated with the latest ethnic fashion trends, colour palettes, fabrics, and design innovations.
- Participate in collection planning, seasonal launches, and festive collections.
- Coordinate with photographers and the marketing team during product shoots to ensure garments are styled and presented effectively.
- Maintain design documentation, fabric swatches, and product specifications.
- Support product development from concept through final production.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of blouse construction, garment design, and women's ethnic wear.
- Excellent sketching and fashion illustration skills.
- Understanding of fabrics, embroidery techniques, and garment finishing.
- Knowledge of pattern making and garment fitting.
- Creative thinking with a strong eye for colour combinations, styling, and detailing.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with production teams and vendors.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CorelDRAW is an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
- Experience in saree boutiques, ethnic wear brands, bridal couture, or designer studios.
- Knowledge of embroidery techniques, traditional Indian textiles, and regional craftsmanship will be an added advantage.
