Job Summary
The BBS Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for RCC structural elements in accordance with approved structural drawings and project specifications. The role ensures accurate steel quantity estimation, optimization of reinforcement usage, and coordination with the site execution, planning, billing, and store departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for all RCC structural elements.
- Review structural and reinforcement drawings before BBS preparation.
- Calculate reinforcement quantities for procurement and billing.
- Optimize steel consumption to minimize wastage.
- Coordinate with the Site Engineer, Planning Engineer, QS, and Store departments.
- Verify reinforcement details before fabrication and placement.
- Ensure compliance with IS Codes, project specifications, and approved drawings.
- Track steel consumption and reconcile actual vs. theoretical quantities.
- Assist in preparation of steel reconciliation reports.
- Update revisions in BBS as per latest drawings.
- Maintain proper documentation and BBS records.
- Support billing and quantity verification activities.
- Coordinate with consultants for reinforcement-related clarifications.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reinforcement progress reports .
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of RCC detailing and reinforcement.
- Proficiency in Bar Bending Schedule preparation.
- Good understanding of IS 2502, IS 456, and relevant reinforcement standards.
- Ability to read structural drawings.
- Excellent quantity estimation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in high-rise buildings, residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Good understanding of reinforcement detailing and quantity calculations.
- Ability to work under deadlines and coordinate with multiple departments.
- Strong commitment to quality and safety standards.
Pay: ₹323,949.02 - ₹1,418,847.71 per year
