About the Role – Senior Payroll Analyst (India and UK)
In this role, you will be part of a high-performing global accounting team that ensures the integrity and accuracy of Xactly’s payroll function. Based in Bangalore, India, and reporting directly to our Global Payroll Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end payroll operations for India and the United Kingdom. You will collaborate across teams, solve complex challenges, serve as a subject matter expert (SME), and ensure strict statutory compliance across both jurisdictions.
What You’ll Do
Execute Core Payroll Operations: Manage end-to-end monthly India payroll and UK payroll processing via the Vistra OverseasConnect (OSC) platform. Ensure high accuracy for all employee changes (new hires, terminations, rate adjustments, Full & Final / F&F settlements, investment proofs, and benefit deductions).
Statutory & Tax Compliance: Oversee complete compliance and monthly remittances for India statutory bodies (Provident Fund/PF, Employee State Insurance/ESI, Professional Tax/PT, Labour Welfare Fund/LWF, and Income Tax TDS) alongside UK HMRC rules (PAYE Income Tax, National Insurance, and Workplace Pension auto-enrolment).
Year-End Reporting & Audits: Lead year-end processes in India (investment proof verification, Form 16 generation) and UK tax year-end reporting (P60/P11D statements). Prepare supporting documentation for internal, external, and statutory audits.
Employee Query Resolution & SME Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, tax declarations, flexi-benefits, and F&F settlements. Lead finance payroll inductions for new hires while acting as a trusted SME for cross-functional partners.
Month-End Close & Reconciliations: Prepare month-end general ledger (GL) journal entries, perform balance sheet account reconciliations, and analyze variances in payroll expense accounts.
Process Optimization & Vendor Coordination: Liaise daily with third-party vendors on the Vistra OSC platform to validate input/output reports, drive SLA adherence, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Skills
5–8 years of hands-on experience processing end-to-end India payroll and managing statutory compliances for a global tech/SaaS organization.
Deep knowledge of Indian labor laws, tax regimes, and statutory frameworks (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Shops & Establishments, and Form 16/TDS).
Hands-on operational experience using the Vistra OverseasConnect (OSC) platform (or equivalent tier-1 global HRMS/payroll portals).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, nested formulas) with high attention to detail for handling complex payroll variance reconciliations.
Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with a process-oriented mindset and a proven track record of handling employee query triage.
Good-to-Have Skills
Working knowledge or direct experience supporting UK payroll (HMRC guidelines, PAYE, National Insurance, P60/P11D).
Experience in a US-headquartered tech/SaaS company environment.
Education & Professional Certifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance or CA Inter preferred).
Certifications (Strong Plus): Certified Payroll Professional - India (CPPI), Diploma in Labour Laws & Administrative Law (DLL&AL), or Global Payroll Management certification.
