Job Description
Hotel New Town, Angamaly is is searching for an experienced Bartender who is familiar with a wide variety of drink recipes and is capable of delivering quality customer service. The Bartender will be responsible for serving patrons at our rooftop bar and fulfilling drink orders, monitoring the cash drawer at the bar and performing alcohol inventories at the end of each night to help in maintaining proper inventory levels. The candidate should be efficient, honest, and customer-focused.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and Serve Beverages
- Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes.
- Prepare cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wines, beers, coffees, and specialty drinks.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
Customer Service
- Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Recommend drinks based on customer preferences.
- Take beverage orders accurately and serve them promptly.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
Bar Setup and Maintenance
- Prepare the bar before service by stocking beverages, garnishes, ice, glassware, and supplies.
- Keep the bar clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the shift.
- Clean bar equipment, counters, and workstations regularly.
Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and bar supplies.
- Report low stock and assist in inventory counts.
- Minimize wastage and breakage.
Cash Handling and Billing
- Prepare guest bills accurately.
- Process cash, card, and digital payments.
- Balance cash drawer and maintain accurate transaction records.
Food Safety and Hygiene
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ensure all glassware, utensils, and equipment are clean and sanitized.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations.
Responsible Alcohol Service
- Verify the legal drinking age where applicable.
- Refuse service to intoxicated guests when necessary.
- Promote responsible consumption of alcohol.
Product Knowledge
- Maintain knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, beers, and current beverage trends.
- Learn seasonal menus and promotional offers.
- Suggest food and beverage pairings to increase sales.
Team Collaboration
- Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service.
- Assist colleagues during busy periods.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
Compliance and Security
- Follow hotel or restaurant policies and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain security of bar stock and cash.
- Report accidents, equipment faults, or suspicious activities immediately.
