We are seeking a reliable and highly skilled Fire Fighting Pump Fitter to install, maintain, test, and repair fire pump systems (diesel and Petrol driven).
Key Responsibilities
- Installation: Read blueprints and technical drawings to assemble, position, and install fire pumps, controllers, jockey pumps, and associated pipework.
- Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, and repair or replace defective components.
- Testing & Compliance: Perform annual fire pump flow testing and weekly/monthly run tests in accordance with NFPA 20 (or local country standards).
- Alignment: Perform precise laser or dial-indicator alignment of pump and driver shafts.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of test results, maintenance reports, and compliance certificates.
- Safety: Adhere strictly to all site safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company safety policies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a pump fitter, mechanical fitter, or pipefitter, specifically working with fire pump systems.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of centrifugal pumps, diesel engines, electric motors, and fire controllers.
- Skills: Ability to read schematics/P&IDs, strong problem-solving abilities, and proficiency with hand/power tools and alignment equipment.
