Designation : HDPE Pipe Extrusion Operator
Department : Production / Manufacturing
The HDPE Pipe Extrusion Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring HDPE pipe extrusion machines to produce quality pipes according to production targets and specifications. The operator ensures smooth machine operation, product quality, safety compliance, and minimum production downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate HDPE pipe extrusion machine and related equipment
- Set machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, vacuum, and line speed
- Monitor pipe dimensions, wall thickness, and product quality
- Start-up and shut-down extrusion lines safely
- Load and handle raw materials (HDPE granules/masterbatch)
- Ensure continuous production with minimum wastage
- Inspect finished pipes as per quality standards
- Maintain production records and machine logs
- Troubleshoot minor machine and process problems
- Coordinate with maintenance and quality departments
- Follow safety procedures and housekeeping standards
- Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance activities
Required Skills
- Knowledge of HDPE pipe extrusion process
- Understanding of extrusion machine operations and controls
- Ability to measure pipe dimensions using measuring instruments
- Basic troubleshooting and maintenance knowledge
- Knowledge of raw materials and production parameters
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Awareness of safety and quality standards
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Plastic Technology, or related field preferred
- Technical training in extrusion operations is an advantage
Experience
- 1–3 years experience in HDPE pipe extrusion manufacturing
Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts may be required
- Manufacturing/plant environment
- Standing and machine operation for long hours
