Job Summary -
The Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of road construction equipment at customer sites. The role requires providing prompt technical support, ensuring maximum machine uptime, maintaining strong customer relationships, and delivering high-quality after-sales service.
Key Responsibilities -
- Install, commission, and inspect road construction machinery at customer locations.
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service as per manufacturer guidelines.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults.
- Attend machine breakdowns and ensure timely resolution to minimize equipment downtime.
- Conduct machine health checks and recommend repairs, overhauls, or component replacements.
- Prepare detailed service reports, inspection records, and warranty documentation.
- Coordinate with spare parts and technical support teams to ensure timely availability of parts.
- Train customers and machine operators on equipment operation, safety, and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and customer site safety requirements.
- Maintain service tools, test equipment, and company assets in good working condition.
- Support warranty claim investigations and technical issue resolution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to enhance service satisfaction.
- Provide feedback to the engineering and product support teams regarding recurring technical issues.
- Travel extensively to customer sites within the assigned territory.
Required Qualifications -
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in servicing road construction equipment, construction machinery, heavy equipment, or mining machinery.
- Fresh graduates with relevant internship or field experience may also be considered.
Technical Skills -
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, powertrain systems, electrical systems, and electronics.
- Experience in troubleshooting pavers, motor graders, soil compactors, tandem rollers, milling machines, asphalt plants, batching plants, and related construction equipment.
- Ability to interpret hydraulic and electrical circuit diagrams.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and service software.
- Basic computer proficiency in MS Office and service reporting systems.
