Glimmerwood is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our team in Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for translating client visions into stunning, functional, and technically precise spaces. As a specialist in wood manufacturing and interior design, you will manage projects from the initial site measurement phase through to final execution, ensuring a "Zero Error" process.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Create detailed 2D and 3D concept designs, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and technical details for residential and commercial projects.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare accurate production drawings, panel cutting lists, hardware lists, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Site Management: Conduct site measurements, prepare estimates/quotations, monitor project progress, and perform quality/quantity inspections.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with clients, architects, and the execution team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Client Relations: Provide regular updates to clients, manage expectations, and resolve any design or execution-related concerns promptly.
- Asset Management: Ensure the safety, security, and proper handling of materials and assets at the project site.
- Reporting: Maintain project documentation and submit daily status reports through established communication channels.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience specifically within the wood manufacturing and interior design industry.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in AutoCAD (Must have), 3ds Max, SketchUp, Revit, and relevant inspection software.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong command of panel cut-list preparation and hardware scheduling.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle client interactions professionally and smartly.
- Execution Mindset: Strong attention to detail, a commitment to a "Zero Error" process, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
