Job Summary:
The Ostomy Care Specialist will be responsible for providing comprehensive stoma and wound care support to patients across hospitals, clinics, and specialized wound care centers. The role includes post-surgical patient support, education, clinical assessment, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and achieving assigned patient care targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work across various healthcare organizations including hospitals, clinics, and specialized wound care centers.
- Generate and attend new patient leads from hospitals post-surgery.
- Achieve assigned targets for dressing and onboarding new ostomy patients.
- Educate patients and their families about ostomy procedures, stoma care, and available pouching systems.
- Provide clear instructions on hygiene practices, pouch changing techniques, and peristomal skin care.
- Assess patient body profile and monitor the fit and functionality of ostomy pouching systems to prevent leaks and discomfort.
- Ensure proper wound healing at the stoma site and provide necessary care and follow-up.
- Advise patients on appropriate dietary choices to maintain regular bowel function and prevent digestive complications; refer patients to the surgeon when required.
- Educate patients on how diet and food habits impact digestive health and stoma output.
- Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and obtain consent before initiating any procedure.
- Submit required reports and documentation to the reporting manager/company.
- Provide insights and feedback for new product development based on patient interactions and field experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
- B.Sc. Nursing / GNM Nursing / Any relevant degree.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards of care.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: Up to ₹3.5 LPA (depending on experience and interview performance).
- Benefits: TA, DA, and Performance-based Incentives.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
