Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Chemical Engineer with experience in Nitric Acid Plant operations to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient plant operations, maintaining safety standards, and optimizing production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor Nitric Acid Plant (Ostwald Process) including ammonia oxidation, absorption, and tail gas systems.
- Maintain process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates for optimal plant performance.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure minimal downtime.
- Monitor emissions (NOx, ammonia slip) and ensure compliance with environmental norms.
- Optimize production efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and improve yield.
- Support plant startup, shutdown, and emergency handling activities.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, SOPs, and HAZOP guidelines.
- Prepare daily production reports and maintain operational records.
- Coordinate with lab and quality teams to ensure product specifications are met.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
- 2–8 years of experience in Nitric Acid / Fertilizer / Chemical Manufacturing Plant
- Strong understanding of process engineering and plant operations
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of DCS/SCADA systems
- Experience in process optimization and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with environmental compliance and safety regulations
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team player with effective communication skills
