Responsibilities:
The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing:

Support global project teams by providing structural design and drafting services on industrial, manufacturing, automotive, commercial, and institutional projects.

Develop and maintain detailed 2D drawings and 3D BIM models of steel and reinforced concrete structures in accordance with client requirements, BIM LOD standards, and construction documentation practices.

Gather, review, and interpret information from engineering calculations, specifications, sketches, field data, and multidisciplinary sources to produce accurate and complete design deliverables.

Perform model and drawing coordination activities, including verification of dimensions, identification of clashes or interferences, and resolution of design inconsistencies.

Collaborate closely with structural engineers and other disciplines to ensure quality, constructability, and adherence to project requirements.

Analyze sketches, markups, design criteria, and technical instructions to determine the most efficient approach for preparing drawings and models.

Provide technical guidance, training, and support to junior designers, promoting consistency and best practices within the team.

Participate in site visits to verify existing conditions, collect field information, and provide construction-phase design support as required.

Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks to support BIM coordination, model reviews, clash detection, and project delivery requirements.

Travel to project sites or other SSOE offices for project coordination, collaboration, training, and client support activities.
Qualifications:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in CAD/BIM Design Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Minimum 4-7 years of experience as a Structural Engineer role.

Strong understanding of building codes, AISC, ACI, and other applicable industry standards.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks, MicroStation, and other CAD/BIM tools used for structural design and project coordination.

Experience with software interoperability and design workflows between platforms such as Revit, RISA, and other engineering applications.

Working knowledge of industrial, manufacturing, commercial, and institutional building projects, with the ability to execute related structural designs and BIM deliverables.

Ability to develop, coordinate, and manage detailed 2D drawings and 3D BIM models while ensuring quality, accuracy, and constructability.

Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate seamlessly with global project teams and maintain strong professional relationships.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Flexibility to work during evening hours to support coordination and communication with U.S.-based project teams.
