Job Purpose
The Rivet Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating all rivet manufacturing activities to ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining product quality, workplace safety, and operational efficiency. The role includes managing operators, monitoring production processes, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management
- Supervise daily rivet manufacturing operations.
- Ensure production schedules are met within planned timelines.
- Monitor machine utilization and production efficiency.
- Allocate manpower based on production requirements.
- Coordinate with Planning, Maintenance, Tool Room, and Quality departments.
Process Control
- Monitor all manufacturing processes, including:
- Wire drawing
- Cold heading
- Trimming
- Pointing
- Heat treatment (where applicable)
- Surface finishing (zinc plating, phosphating, etc.)
- Thread rolling (for special rivets)
- Inspection and packing
- Ensure machines are operating within specified process parameters.
- Minimize rejection, rework, and production losses.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure products comply with customer specifications and applicable standards.
- Monitor in-process inspections and final quality checks.
- Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
- Maintain traceability records.
Team Management
- Supervise machine operators and production workers.
- Conduct shift briefings and allocate work.
- Train new employees on machine operation and safety procedures.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and productivity.
- Motivate employees to achieve production goals.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies.
- Promote the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Conduct daily safety inspections.
- Report accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices (5S).
Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate preventive maintenance activities.
- Report machine breakdowns immediately.
- Work with the maintenance team to reduce downtime.
- Ensure proper lubrication and routine machine checks.
Inventory & Material Control
- Monitor raw material availability.
- Verify production material consumption.
- Minimize scrap generation.
- Ensure proper storage of finished products and work-in-progress.
Documentation
- Maintain daily production reports.
- Record machine downtime and production losses.
- Maintain quality inspection records.
- Prepare shift handover reports.
- Update production KPIs.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Support Kaizen, TPM, and Six Sigma activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Recommend process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- 3–7 years of experience in fastener, rivet, cold forging, or metal component manufacturing.
- Experience supervising shop-floor personnel.
Required Technical Skills
- Knowledge of cold heading and rivet manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of production planning and scheduling.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier calipers
- Micrometers
- Height gauges
- Thread gauges
- Go/No-Go gauges
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC).
- Understanding of root cause analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, ERP/MRP systems).

Preferred Industry Experience
Candidates with experience in the manufacture of:
- Bimetallic Rivets
- Solid rivets
- Copper or brass rivets
- Cold-forged fasteners and precision metal components

Pay: ₹10,306.62 - ₹30,000.00 per month
