Electrical Fitter – L&T Shipbuilding / Shipyard
Job Description
Position: Electrical Fitter
Location: Shipyard / Marine Project Site
Department: Electrical / Maintenance / Production
Key Responsibilities
Install, assemble, and fit electrical systems and equipment onboard ships or at shipyard projects
Perform cable laying, cable dressing, and cable termination works
Install lighting systems, panels, switchboards, and electrical fittings
Read and follow electrical drawings and technical instructions
Assist in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting electrical systems
Maintain tools and electrical equipment safely
Ensure work is completed according to safety and quality standards
Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other departments during installation activities
Carry out repair and maintenance of electrical components when required
Required Skills
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and shipyard practices
Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
Knowledge of cable glanding and termination
Familiarity with electrical safety procedures
Good teamwork and physical fitness
Qualification
ITI Electrician / Electrical Trade Certificate
Diploma holders may also apply depending on requirement
Experience
Freshers or experienced candidates in shipyard, construction, offshore, or industrial projects
Shipyard or marine experience preferred
Safety Requirements
Must follow PPE and shipyard safety regulations
Ability to work at height, confined spaces, and shift duties if required

Electrical Supervisor / Foreman / Engineer
