About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and solution-oriented Database Developer (SQL Server) to work from Gurugram location. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in SQL Server database development, query optimization, and database performance tuning who enjoy building robust, scalable, and secure database solutions.
The ideal candidate will work closely with software developers and business teams to design, develop, and maintain high-performance databases that support critical business applications while ensuring data integrity, availability, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases and related database objects.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, and user-defined functions.
- Design efficient database schemas, indexing strategies, and normalization structures.
- Analyze database performance and implement tuning techniques to improve speed and efficiency.
- Monitor database health, storage utilization, and overall system performance.
- Perform database backup, recovery, maintenance, and disaster recovery activities.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, security, and compliance across all database environments.
- Support application development teams by creating optimized database solutions.
- Assist in database migration, deployment, and version upgrades.
- Troubleshoot production database issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, database standards, and maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable database solutions.
Required Skills
- 5–6 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server Database Development.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019 or later).
- Excellent knowledge of SQL programming, Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, Triggers, and CTEs.
- Experience in query optimization and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of database design principles, indexing, normalization, and relational databases.
- Experience with database backup, restoration, replication, and maintenance plans.
- Knowledge of ETL processes and data migration techniques.
- Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is an advantage.
- Understanding of database security, user roles, and access management.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems is preferred.
- Exposure to cloud-based SQL databases (Azure SQL/AWS RDS) will be an added advantage.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Microsoft SQL Server or other relevant database certifications are preferred.
