Job Overview
The NOC Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting enterprise-level servers and storage systems (SAN, NAS, DAS). This role ensures high availability, performance, and security of IT infrastructure while providing timely resolution of incidents and proactive system maintenance.
Key Responsibilities

Server management: Monitor, configure, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers to ensure uptime and performance.

Storage administration: Manage SAN, NAS, and DAS environments, including provisioning, capacity planning, and performance optimization.

Incident response: Act as first responder for infrastructure alerts, escalating issues when necessary.

System monitoring: Utilize monitoring tools to track server/storage health, performance, and availability.

Backup & recovery: Implement and maintain backup strategies, ensuring data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of incidents, configurations, and system changes.

Collaboration: Work closely with network, security, and application teams to resolve cross-functional issues.

Continuous improvement: Recommend and implement enhancements to improve system reliability and efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows/Linux), OS Configuration and troubleshooting (AD, DNS, DHCP, File Server), Virtualization (VmWare, Hyper-V, Nutanix & ProxMox) and enterprise storage technologies (SAN, NAS, Unified and DAS).

Monitoring tools: Experience with tools like Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or equivalent.

Troubleshooting skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware/software/storage issues quickly.

Networking fundamentals: Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing concepts.

Scripting knowledge: Familiarity with automation using PowerShell, Bash.

Communication skills: Clear and effective communication for incident reporting and collaboration.

Certifications: Preferred certifications include MCSE, VMware VCP, or storage vendor-specific certifications (Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE).

Shift flexibility: Willingness to work in 24x7 rotational shifts.
