SIMHAR is a 250-bed psychiatric hospital in Kerala providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient mental health care. We are seeking a full-time Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team, delivering psychological assessment and evidence-based therapy across our inpatient and outpatient services.
Role overview
The Clinical Psychologist works alongside consultant psychiatrists, RMOs, and nursing staff to provide psychological assessment, diagnostic formulation, and structured therapeutic interventions for patients across a range of mental health conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct psychological and psychometric assessments (cognitive, personality, diagnostic) and prepare formal reports
- Deliver evidence-based individual and group psychotherapy (CBT, DBT, family therapy, etc.)
- Contribute to diagnostic formulation and treatment planning within the multidisciplinary team
- Provide crisis intervention and support for inpatients
- Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to ethical and hospital protocols
- Support psychoeducation for patients and families
- Participate in case conferences and contribute to service development
Requirements
- M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from an RCI-recognised institution (PsyD/PhD an advantage)
- Valid RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) registration — mandatory
- Proficiency in standardised psychological assessment tools
- Strong clinical, report-writing, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in a psychiatric or hospital setting preferred; freshers with strong M.Phil training may be considered
