Job Summary
The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete restaurant operations, ensuring excellent guest service, profitability, food quality, staff management, and smooth day-to-day functioning. The role requires strong leadership, operational control, and customer service expertise.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
- Manage daily restaurant operations including dining, kitchen coordination, billing, and guest handling.
- Ensure smooth opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and service standards.
Guest Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service and hospitality.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and ensure quick resolution.
- Maintain high online ratings and customer satisfaction.
Team Management
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise restaurant staff.
- Monitor employee performance and discipline.
- Conduct team briefings and maintain positive work culture.
Sales & Revenue
- Achieve monthly sales and profitability targets.
- Control food cost, wastage, and operational expenses.
- Promote upselling and customer retention strategies.
Inventory & Vendor Management
- Monitor stock levels and purchase requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors.
- Ensure proper inventory control and stock audits.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure FSSAI compliance and hygiene standards.
- Maintain safety, sanitation, and operational SOPs.
- Handle cash management and daily reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Hotel Management / Hospitality preferred.
- 3–10 years of restaurant or hospitality experience.
- Prior managerial experience in restaurant operations preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer handling skills.
