Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Plan machining processes (sequence of operations)
- Set up and operate manual machines such as:
- Lathe machines
- Milling machines
- Drilling machines
- Grinding machines
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds
- Perform precision measurements using instruments like:
- Vernier calipers
- Micrometers
- Dial gauges
- Ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances
- Perform basic maintenance of machines
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust operations accordingly
- Maintain safety standards in the workshop
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of machining processes
- Ability to read mechanical drawings
- Good understanding of materials (metal, alloys, etc.)
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of workshop safety practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3–8 years experience in CNC programming
- Strong knowledge of VMC, HMC, CNC turning, VTL
- Proficiency in G-code programming and CAM software
