Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently.
- Verify prescriptions for dosage, interactions, contraindications, and patient safety.
- Counsel patients regarding medication usage, dosage, side effects, and storage requirements.
- Maintain inventory of medicines, medical supplies, and pharmacy stock.
- Ensure timely procurement and replenishment of medicines.
- Monitor expiry dates and manage disposal of expired or damaged medications as per regulations.
- Maintain proper documentation and pharmacy records.
- Comply with hospital policies, pharmacy regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication-related queries.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and smooth functioning of the pharmacy department.
- Handle billing and medication dispensing software, if applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognized institution.
- Valid Pharmacist Registration Certificate.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy preferred.
- Freshers with strong knowledge and willingness to learn may also apply.
Required Skills
- Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs and dosage forms.
- Understanding of drug interactions and patient safety practices.
- Good communication and counseling skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency and pharmacy software knowledge.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, including weekends and emergencies if required.
