JOB SUMMARY
The Agricultural Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and supervising the Company's agricultural and farm operations. The role includes crop planning and production, farm staff supervision, resource management, agricultural input management, crop health monitoring, budgeting, record keeping, and ensuring that farm activities are carried out efficiently and in accordance with applicable Indian laws, regulations, and company policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Crop Planning and Production
- Prepare seasonal and annual crop production plans.
- Select suitable crops based on soil, climate, water availability, market demand, and Company objectives.
- Plan and supervise land preparation, sowing, planting, irrigation, fertilization, cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest activities.
- Monitor crop growth, quality, yield, and production performance.
- Develop crop rotation and production schedules where appropriate.
- Identify and address crop diseases, pests, weeds, and other production problems.
2. Farm Operations Management
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the farm.
- Coordinate agricultural activities and ensure timely completion of farm work.
- Supervise the use and maintenance of farm machinery, equipment, tools, irrigation systems, and other assets.
- Ensure the efficient use of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, water, fuel, and other agricultural inputs.
- Maintain proper farm infrastructure, storage, and operational facilities.
3. Staff and Labour Management
- Supervise permanent, temporary, and seasonal agricultural workers.
- Allocate duties and prepare work schedules.
- Monitor attendance, performance, productivity, and work quality.
- Provide instructions and on-the-job training to farm workers.
- Maintain proper discipline and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Report staffing and performance issues to management.
4. Agricultural Input and Inventory Management
- Plan and monitor the purchase and use of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, tools, fuel, and other farm inputs.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Prevent unnecessary wastage, misuse, damage, and loss of materials.
- Ensure that agricultural inputs are stored, handled, and used safely and appropriately.
5. Crop Protection and Safety
- Monitor crops for pests, diseases, weeds, and environmental risks.
- Coordinate appropriate crop protection measures.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of pesticides, fertilizers, and other agricultural chemicals.
- Promote safe working practices for employees and workers.
- Report accidents, injuries, crop damage, theft, equipment damage, and other significant incidents to management.
6. Budget and Cost Management
- Assist in preparing agricultural budgets and production cost estimates.
- Monitor farm expenses and operating costs.
- Control costs while maintaining production quality and efficiency.
- Obtain appropriate approval for purchases and significant expenses.
- Maintain records of expenses, purchases, production costs, and farm operations.
7. Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure farm operations comply with applicable Indian laws, regulations, permits, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records relating to crops, inputs, labour, expenses, production, yields, and farm activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, agricultural, and labour requirements.
- Maintain documentation required for internal management and regulatory purposes.
8. Reporting and Communication
- Prepare regular reports for management regarding:
- Crop progress;
- Production performance;
- Expected yields;
- Labour and staffing;
- Farm expenses;
- Agricultural inputs;
- Equipment and machinery;
- Operational problems and risks.
- Provide recommendations to management for improving productivity and profitability.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, contractors, agricultural specialists, government authorities, and other relevant parties as authorized by the Company.
9. Knowledge of Modern Farming Technologies:
- Should have a strong understanding of modern agricultural practices and technologies
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agribusiness, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant experience in farm management, agricultural production, crop production, or agricultural operations.
- Knowledge of crop planning, cultivation, irrigation, fertilizers, crop protection, and harvesting.
- Experience managing agricultural workers and farm operations.
- Knowledge of farm equipment, machinery, and agricultural inputs.
- Basic understanding of agricultural budgeting and cost control.
- Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
- Ability to work outdoors and manage agricultural operations in varying weather conditions.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The position may require:
- Regular outdoor and field-based work;
- Work during planting, cultivation, and harvesting seasons;
- Flexible working hours depending on agricultural requirements;
- Supervision of workers and farm activities;
- Travel between agricultural fields, farms, storage facilities, suppliers, and other locations when required.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
