The Cutting Master is responsible for overseeing and executing fabric cutting operations with precision and efficiency. The role ensures optimal fabric utilization, adherence to production plans, and maintenance of quality standards in alignment with company requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and understand production plans, patterns, and specifications before cutting.
- Plan and execute fabric cutting as per approved markers and production requirements.
- Ensure maximum fabric utilization and minimize wastage.
- Supervise spreading and cutting processes to maintain accuracy.
- Verify fabric quality before cutting and report any defects or discrepancies.
- Maintain proper alignment, grain, and pattern matching during cutting.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely delivery of cut panels.
- Manage and guide cutting helpers and workers for smooth workflow.
- Maintain records of fabric consumption, wastage, and cutting output.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of cut components.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the cutting area.
- Ensure all tools and machines are properly maintained and used efficiently.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Cutting Master in the garment industry.
- Strong knowledge of fabric types, patterns, and cutting techniques.
- Experience in manual and/or machine cutting.
- Ability to read and interpret markers and patterns accurately.
- Good understanding of fabric consumption and wastage control.
- Basic record-keeping and reporting skills.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per hour
