Job Summary
The Nursing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all nursing services within the hospital, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient nursing operations. The role requires strong leadership, effective staff coordination, knowledge of NABH standards, and the ability to maintain smooth communication and workflow between nursing staff, doctors, patients, and hospital departments.
Qualifications & Experience
- GNM or B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing.
- Valid Registration Certificate from the U.P. Nurses & Midwives Council.
- Minimum 15-20 years of experience in hospital nursing services.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or nursing administration role is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all nursing departments and nursing personnel within the hospital.
- Ensure delivery of quality patient care in accordance with hospital policies, protocols, and nursing standards.
- Supervise nursing staff deployment, discipline, performance, and workforce planning.
- Maintain effective coordination between nursing staff, doctors, patients, attendants, and support departments.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards, infection control practices, and hospital regulations.
- Address patient and staff concerns and facilitate timely resolution of operational issues.
- Conduct staff training, orientation, and professional development programs.
- Monitor nursing documentation, quality indicators, and patient safety initiatives.
- Support hospital accreditation, audits, and quality improvement activities.
- Promote a positive work environment and ensure smooth day-to-day hospital operations.
