Sample Receipt &
Preparation
a. Inspect received samples for identification, labeling, and
quantity.
b. Verify that the sample quantity meets the minimum testing
requirement (approximately 1 kg or as specified by the test
method).
c. Assign a unique sample identification number and maintain
sample receipt records.
d. Prepare samples using appropriate crushing and grinding
techniques to achieve complete mineral liberation for lumpy
samples
e. Reduce sample size using representative sampling methods
(preferably Coning & Quartering or Riffle Splitter) to obtain a
representative analytical sample.
f. Pulverize the representative sample to the specified particle
size (typically -150 µm or as required by the test method).
g. Store the remaining sample securely as a retained/reference
sample for future verification or repeat analysis.
h. Ensure proper cleaning of crushers, grinders, pulverizers, and
accessories between samples to prevent cross-contamination.
i. Record all sample preparation activities in the laboratory
logbook

Procurement &
Inventory
Management
a. Procure analytical-grade chemicals, reagents, acids, bases,
indicators, solvents, and Certified Reference Materials (CRMs)
as specified in ASTM, BIS/IS, ISO, EN, or other applicable
standards.
b. Verify certificates of analysis (CoA), purity, expiry dates, and
storage requirements before use.
c. Procure laboratory consumables such as filter papers, crucibles,
volumetric glassware, plastic ware, pipettes, laboratory gases,
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), etc.
d. Ensure availability of laboratory equipment such as filtration
units, vacuum pumps, distillation units, fume hoods, ultrasonic
cleaners, hot plates, magnetic stirrers, muffle furnaces, platinum
crucibles, balances, and drying ovens.
e. Maintain inventory records, stock levels, issue registers, and
reorder points for consumables and chemicals.
f. Coordinate with approved vendors for procurement and
maintain purchase records.
g. Ensure proper storage, labeling, segregation, and disposal of
chemicals according to laboratory safety requirements.
h. Coordinate preventive maintenance, AMC/CMC, calibration,
and servicing of laboratory equipment.

Chemical Analysis
& Testing
a. Perform chemical analysis of minerals, ores, concentrates, and
related materials according to ASTM, BIS/IS, ISO, EN, or other
approved standard methods.
b. Prepare reagents, standard solutions, calibration standards, and
quality control samples according to documented procedures.
c. Carry out wet chemical analysis for major and minor
constituents using standard analytical methods.
d. Perform Loss on Ignition (LOI), moisture determination,
insoluble residue, and other routine chemical tests as applicable.
e. Operate advanced analytical instruments such as XRF, ICP OES, ICP-MS, AAS, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Flame
Photometer, and other laboratory instruments where applicable.
f. Conduct duplicate/triplicate analysis whenever required to
verify repeatability and precision.
g. Calculate analytical results, dilution factors, recovery,
uncertainty of measurement, and statistical parameters where
applicable.
h. Verify analytical results against quality control acceptance
criteria before reporting.
i. Record observations, calculations, instrument data, and final
results in laboratory records and electronic systems.
j. Report abnormal or non-conforming results to the Laboratory
Supervisor for investigation.

Quality Assurance
& Documentation
(NABL requirement)
a. Follow the laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) and
applicable ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
b. Maintain traceable records of sample receipt, testing,
calculations, calibration, and reports.
c. Participate in internal quality control, proficiency testing, and
inter-laboratory comparison programs.
d. Use Certified Reference Materials (CRMs), blanks, duplicates,
and control samples for quality assurance.
e. Assist in method validation, verification, and estimation of
measurement uncertainty.
f. Ensure all laboratory records are complete, accurate, legible,
and securely maintained.
g. Maintain confidentiality of customer samples and analytical
data.

Equipment
Operation &
Maintenance
a. Operate laboratory instruments according to approved Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs).
b. Perform routine calibration, verification, and performance
checks of balances, pipettes, pH meters, ovens, furnaces,
analytical instruments, and other laboratory equipment.
c. Maintain equipment logbooks and calibration records.
d. Report equipment malfunction and coordinate repairs with
maintenance or service providers.
e. Ensure equipment qualification and calibration are current
before analytical use.

Laboratory Safety
& Environmental
Compliance
a. Follow laboratory safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
during all laboratory operations.
b. Handle acids, alkalis, solvents, compressed gases, and
hazardous chemicals safely according to Material Safety Data
Sheets (MSDS/SDS).
c. Operate fume hoods and ventilation systems appropriately
during hazardous operations.
d. Segregate, label, store, and dispose of laboratory waste
according to regulatory and environmental requirements.
e. Report accidents, spills, near misses, and unsafe conditions
immediately.
f. Maintain good laboratory housekeeping practices (5S) to
ensure a clean and organized workplace.
g. Participate in emergency response and safety training
programs.

Continuous
Improvement &
Training
a. Stay updated with revisions to ASTM, BIS, ISO, EN, and other
analytical standards.
b. Participate in technical training programs to improve analytical
competency.
c. Assist in developing and revising laboratory SOPs and work
instructions.
d. Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at
enhancing laboratory efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround time.
e. Mentor junior laboratory personnel and trainees when required.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
