JOB DESCRIPTION – ANESTHETIST
Position: Anesthetist
Department: Operation Theatre (OT)
Qualification: MD/DNB/DA in Anaesthesiology with valid Medical Council registration
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital (Freshers may apply if permitted by hospital policy)
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assess patients pre-operatively and determine the appropriate anaesthesia plan.
- Administer general, regional, and local anaesthesia for surgical and diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs throughout the procedure and manage any complications.
- Ensure safe recovery from anaesthesia and provide post-operative pain management.
- Respond promptly to emergency and critical care situations requiring airway and resuscitation management.
- Maintain accurate anaesthesia records and complete all medical documentation.
- Coordinate with surgeons, OT staff, and nursing teams to ensure patient safety.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, infection control practices, and patient safety standards.
- Supervise the proper use and maintenance of anaesthesia equipment and medications.
- Participate in clinical audits, emergency drills, and continuous medical education programs as required by the hospital.
