Job Summary:
The Part-Time Consultant Pathologist is responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and validating laboratory investigations and pathology reports. The consultant will provide expert diagnostic support, ensure quality standards in laboratory services, and offer clinical guidance to treating physicians as required.
Key Responsibilities: Diagnostic Responsibilities
- Review and validate laboratory reports, including hematology, biochemistry, clinical pathology, and microbiology investigations.
- Examine and interpret histopathology and cytology specimens, where applicable.
- Provide accurate and timely diagnostic opinions.
- Discuss critical findings with treating consultants and clinicians.
- Review abnormal and complex cases requiring specialist interpretation.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with NABL, NABH, and hospital quality standards.
- Monitor quality control procedures and laboratory accuracy.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory SOPs and documentation.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient records and reports.
Clinical Consultation
- Provide consultation and expert guidance to clinicians regarding laboratory findings.
- Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary meetings as required.
- Offer recommendations for additional investigations when necessary.
Laboratory Supervision
- Guide and support laboratory technicians and technical staff.
- Review reporting practices and ensure adherence to professional standards.
- Assist in resolving laboratory-related diagnostic issues.
Qualifications:
- MBBS with MD/DNB Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Valid NMC/State Medical Council Registration.
- Experience in hospital or diagnostic laboratory pathology services.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Pathologist preferred.
- Experience in report validation, histopathology, cytology, and clinical pathology is desirable.
Required Skills:
- Strong diagnostic and analytical abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of laboratory quality standards and accreditation requirements.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide timely consultations.
Pay: ₹38,035.32 - ₹146,506.09 per month
