Primary Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Design Manager (Head of Department) will lead and supervise the mechanical design team responsible for designing & developing end-of-line packaging machines.
This role involves strategic leadership, project management, and hands-on technical expertise. The ideal candidate will drive innovation, ensure high-quality designs, and maintain alignment with customer requirements while meeting timelines and budget constraints.

Required Skills:
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Experience with material selection, and manufacturing processes, simulations.
- Solid understanding of machine safety standards and regulatory compliance (CE, ISO, etc.).

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsible Area (KRA) & JD:
1. Leadership & Departmental Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mechanical design engineers and draftsman, ensuring skill development and performance management.
- Establish departmental goals and strategies aligned with the overall business objectives.
2. Project Management:
- Allocate resources effectively across multiple projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of designs.
- Coordinate with other departments, including projects, electrical engineering, automation, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of all system components.
3. Design & Innovation:
- Lead the development of innovative mechanical solutions for end-of-line packing machines.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in mechanical engineering, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Continuously improve design methodologies to enhance efficiency, product performance, and manufacturability.
4. Technical Review:
- Review and approve detailed design drawings, 3D models, and engineering documentation.
- Ensure that all mechanical designs are robust, reliable, and optimized for performance, cost-effectiveness, and ease of manufacture.
- Oversee the use of CAD and CAE tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed engineering models and sometimes simulations.
5. Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact between the design team and internal & external stakeholders (subjective)
- Participate in customer meetings to understand their requirements and provide technical advice on mechanical design solutions.
- Communicate project status, risks, and challenges to senior management and key stakeholders, providing regular updates on design progress.
6. Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure all mechanical designs comply with relevant industry standards (ISO, CE, ASME, etc.) and safety regulations.
- Maintaining the design guideline document regularly.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) to ensure design integrity and reliability.
7. Team Development & Training:
- Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning within the design department.
- Identify training needs and opportunities for team members to ensure they stay current with the latest engineering practices and technologies.
- Encourage cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing between team members.
Educational Qualification: BE/ME Mechanical Engineering
Work Experience:
- 18+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with at least 5-7 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience in designing and developing special purpose machines/custom automation /complex electro-mechanical systems / End of line automatic machines/automation and robotics handling systems.
Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
