POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a results-driven Senior Sales Executive with deep domain expertise in the cooling tower industry to drive market share growth, manage high-value client relationships, and ensure end-to-end project execution. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude, a proven network within the engineering and consultancy ecosystem, and the discipline to manage a complex sales pipeline from lead generation to final payment collection.
This role requires a strategic mix of consultative selling, project coordination, and post-sales site management to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
1. Business Development & Consultant Engagement
- Identify, engage, and build long-term relationships with key consulting engineers, architectural firms, and project management consultants (PMCs) to secure pre-qualification and listing on approved vendor/ brand lists for major infrastructure and industrial projects.
- Conduct technical presentations to demonstrate product superiority, energy efficiency, and lifecycle cost benefits.
- Proactively track upcoming projects (greenfield and brownfield) and influence specification writing at the design stage.
2. End-to-End Sales Cycle Management
- Prepare accurate, competitive, and technically compliant sales quotations and proposals based on client requirements, site conditions, and engineering specifications.
- Lead commercial negotiations, address technical queries, and manage the approval process for purchase orders (POs).
- Coordinate with the finance and project execution teams to ensure timely collection of balance payments upon delivery and commissioning, minimizing overdue receivables.
3. Pipeline Management & CRM Discipline
- Maintain a real-time, accurate sales pipeline and activity log within the company CRM system.
- Ensure all client interactions, quotations, site visit notes, and follow-up actions are documented daily to facilitate data-driven forecasting and territory planning.
4. Internal Reporting & Weekly Reviews
- Prepare a concise, data-rich weekly sales report summarizing key wins, lost deals, bottlenecks, and action plans.
- Lead the preparation and presentation for the weekly online review meeting with the reporting superior, highlighting progress against quarterly targets and requesting necessary cross-functional support.
5. Post-Sales Site Coordination & Execution Support
- Conduct regular site visits to track the delivery, installation, and commissioning progress of purchased equipment.
- Act as the bridge between the client’s project team and the company’s service/engineering department to resolve any on-ground technical or logistical issues.
- Ensure that final handover documentation and performance acceptance tests are completed to secure the final milestone payment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Industry Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of progressive sales experience specifically within the cooling tower, HVAC, or heat exchanger manufacturing industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related technical field. An MBA is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of induced/forced draft cooling towers, closed-circuit coolers, thermal performance, and physical water treatment integration.
- Network: Established relationships with key consultants, EPC contractors, and industrial end-users (Oil & Gas, Power, Petrochemical, Data Centers, or Commercial Real Estate).
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Sales Target: Proven ability to close B2B capital equipment deals.
- Commercial Awareness: Expertise in contract terms, milestone billing, and risk mitigation.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills for C-level and technical audiences.
- Organizational Discipline: Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without losing attention to detail.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in CRM tools, MS Office Suite (Excel/PPT), and remote collaboration platforms (Zoom/Teams).
- Mobility: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently to job sites and client offices (up to 60% of working time).
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
- Conversion Rate: % of quotes converted to Purchase Orders.
- Consultant Listing: Number of new approved vendor list inclusions per quarter.
- Receivables Management: Average days to collect balance payment against PO terms.
- CRM Hygiene: 100% update frequency of all sales activities within 24 hours.
- Forecast Accuracy: Variance between projected and actual quarterly sales.
REPORTING & WORKFLOW
- Superior: This role reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager.
- Weekly Rhythm: Every Monday morning, the candidate must submit a written update. The weekly online review meeting is scheduled every Friday at 1:30PM.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Works closely with the Estimation, Projects, and After-Sales Service teams to ensure seamless delivery.
