Patient Counselor / Treatment Advisor

Job Summary
The Patient Counselor / Treatment Advisor is responsible for guiding patients and their attendants regarding treatment options, procedures, estimated costs, hospital services, and admission processes. The role requires excellent communication and counseling skills to ensure patients and their families clearly understand the recommended treatment and can make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Counseling
- Counsel patients and their attendants regarding the treatment advised by the doctor.
- Explain the treatment process, procedures, expected duration, and hospital facilities in simple language.
- Address patient and family concerns professionally and empathetically.
- Treatment Coordination
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, billing, insurance/TPA, and other departments.
- Ensure patients receive accurate information regarding their treatment journey.
- Assist patients with admission, investigation, procedure, and discharge-related coordination.
- Treatment Cost & Package Explanation
- Explain estimated treatment costs, packages, and applicable hospital charges as per approved hospital guidelines.
- Coordinate with the billing/finance team for accurate estimates.
- Clearly communicate inclusions and exclusions of treatment packages.
- Patient Follow-up
- Follow up with patients who have been advised procedures or treatments.
- Maintain proper records of patient inquiries and follow-ups.
- Contact patients regarding pending consultations, investigations, admissions, or procedures.
- Conversion & Patient Support
- Support patients in understanding the benefits and importance of timely treatment.
- Assist in converting genuine treatment inquiries into admissions/procedures while maintaining ethical counseling practices.
- Ensure that patients do not feel pressured into making medical decisions.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily records of counseling, patient inquiries, follow-ups, and admissions.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports as required by management.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Patient Experience
- Provide courteous and compassionate service to patients and attendants.
- Handle complaints or concerns professionally and escalate unresolved issues to the concerned authority.
- Maintain a positive patient experience throughout the treatment process.

Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline preferred.
- Candidates with backgrounds in Healthcare Management, Hospital Administration, Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, or related fields may be preferred.
Experience
- 0–1 years of experience in a hospital, healthcare, patient counseling, treatment coordination, front office, or healthcare sales role preferred.
- Freshers with excellent communication and counseling skills may also be considered.
Pay: ₹144,000.00 - ₹180,000.00 per year
